A rainbow over Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal. It was a special sight today. We accept it as a good omen of our future and of the beloved community we serve!
Ooh… This must have been amazing in person.

OTRview XIV: Michael A. Uhlenhake - Architect, Developer and OTR Resident
Check out the personal history of architect, developer and 20 year resident of Over-the-Rhine Michael A. Uhlenhake. It’s an enlightening and entertaining read!
There’s also a great photo gallery at the end of the article.

Have you ever seen a more epic photo of an architect?
Michael A. Uhlenhake’s personal history of Over the Rhine is beautiful and well worth the read. Don’t miss the included photo gallery for some downright inspirational photos of this historic neighborhood’s revival.
Leonard Cohen (disclaimer: not an Ohioan) is a brilliant songwriter and performer, but I’ve always thought the production of his recordings overshadowed his songwriting. This is especially true for the production “catastrophe” (Cohen’s own word) Death of a Ladies’ Man.
Fortunately, Greg Dulli is here to rescue “Paper Thin Hotel” from that album’s excess. With just a piano, harmonium, violin, bass guitar, and Dulli’s ragged voice, this version is just about perfect.
Greg Dulli, best known for leading Cincinnati’s Afghan Whigs and The Twilight Singers, can do no wrong behind the microphone. He should do an entire album of Cohen covers.

How does an Ohio doctor celebrate his 100th birthday?
He even still makes house calls.
Dr. Fred Goldman served on the front lines during WWII and is sharper and more active than many not even half his age. Clearly a nomination for the Ohio Badass Hall of Fame is in order.

Last year, Bicentennial Bear asked for an Afghan Whigs reunion. Next year, they’re going to get their wish.
That’s right, The Afghan Whigs are reuniting!
It’ll take a trip to All Tomorrow’s Parties in either London, England or Asbury Park, New Jersey, but seriously, it’s an Afghan Whigs reunion. If it’s on Earth, it’s worth the trip.
Here’s hoping they’ll play a few shows back in their home state.

Talk about beautiful and surprisingly dramatic photos of Cincinnati…

Here are The Greenhornes from Cincinnati telling you to cheer up, because it’s Friday.
You may recognize two members of The Greenhornes as also being members of The Raconteurs with Jack White and Brendan Benson.
