William Howard Taft was not the most popular president. He got trounced in his reelection bid, but he did have a few things going for him.
- He was born in Cincinnati.
- He had an amazing mustache. Just look at it. That’s a mustache to be reckoned with. Future generations have been so intimidated by it, none have dared grow their own, making Taft the last US President with any kind of facial hair.
- It looks like he’s wearing a judge’s robe in that photo, because he is. After his stint in the White House, he became the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, making him the only person in history to hold both of those positions.
